Angry Birds Online

Everyone knows that angry birds is one of the most popular mobile games that has ever been released and is without a doubt the most licensed game in modern history with a wide range of angry bird products across many different categories and references in pop culture. But something that you may not have known is that angry birds is moving away from just being played on your mobile devices and can now be played on your media devices (such as roku), on your computer, and even online which doesn’t require you to use or install any special software except for flash and the google chrome browser. Playing the game online is a lot like playing the game on your other devices and for right now at the moment the only game available is the original but it’s expected that the various season versions will be made available later in the year.

As previously mentioned the only requirement to play the game is the use of the google chrome browser and having adobe flash installed on your computer, as long as you have those 2 things available on your computer or laptop then you already have everything you need in order to begin playing the game online. When you compare the two versions there really are no major differences in terms of the actual game play, the objective, methodology, and the actual levels are 100% identical to the mobile device versions. The only thing that really is different between the two is that the online version does use up a little bit more of your CPU since it is flash based but this would only be an issue on laptops and netbooks but the actual difference in usage isn’t that dramatic that you would notice it. But if you’re running on a low battery and have more important things to do it would probably be a good idea to play a less CPU intensive game that won’t drain your battery as fast.

The future of the online version is mostly uncertain, as mentioned earlier the online version is expected to expand from the original angry birds game to include the various angry birds seasons games which will be available for all google chrome users. Another feature that has recently been leaked is the ability to play online against your friends with google+ but we still don’t know of a planned release date or how the game would work since in it’s current form it isn’t a multiplayer game. Chances are that in order to enable multiplayer mode the game would need a complete overall and would probably be based on high scores amongst your circle of friends. If we find out anything else about this new and exciting feature we’ll be sure to update everyone on the blog about what they can expect and how soon they’ll be able to start playing it.

Angry Birds For PC

If you’re a fan of angry birds then chances are that you first came across the game on your mobile phone, either through where it first appeared on the Apple app store for iPhone or where it was released shortly after that, on the android app market. Since that time the game has only continued to grow in popularity and is seeing a massive increase in the amount of new downloads and players so it’s no surprise that later on the phone was ported over to the iPad as well as the various android tablets that are available on the market. But one direction most people didn’t see the game going was towards the desktop, so that it can be played on an ordinary PC such as the one you’re probably using now.

With so much popularity among the fans of angry birds it wouldn’t be a very bright move to not offer the game on as many different platforms available and as a result the company decided to release a angry birds version that can be played on Intel’s AppUP which you guessed it, runs on desktop PC’s. I recently had a chance to play the original game on my PC and have to say that it’s every bit as fun as it is on a mobile device. In fact after a few days of playing on my PC I actually prefer it over my iPhone or iPad. The reason being is that it’s much easier to control the bird’s power, speed, and direction before you shoot them off towards the pigs.

The tapping in order to give the birds their special move is also much more natural with a mouse click than it is with a tap of my screen. And as a bonus, I can play it while I’m at work without the boss thinking I’m messing around on my phone ;) Many people still like to play the game on their phone or tablet but if you’re a fan of the game then you should at least give it a shot.

Angry Birds Cakes

These days it seems that no matter where you turn you can find some sort of licensed angry birds product, from the official games on just about on every platform you can think of to plush toys and pills, and now even angry birds cakes! I do have to admit that this is a unique spin on product licensing and if you have a hardcore angry bird fan in the family then this is probably a good gift to give them on their birthday but I do have to state for the record that even though it’s so cool, it is a little bit odd don’t you think?

Anyway personal opinions aside, here are a few angry bird cake photos we were able to find:

Those were just 3 of my favorites but as you can see from a quick search there is no shortage of available designs out there. At the time of this blog post there is no known official license for angry birds cakes so at this point it is pretty much a free for all in terms of where you could find one. A skilled custom cake designer should have no problem making a cake as long you bring a couple of pictures for design inspiration.
